Mt Colah Preschool Kindergarten, Mt Colah NSW

Enrolment

Your child can commence at Mt Colah Preschool Kindergarten when they are three years of age. You will need to place your child on our Waiting List. It is advisable to do this as early as possible.

We invite you to visit us to meet the wonderful team of Educators, experience the environment we offer and see the Preschool in action for yourself.

To complete the Waiting List Application please download our Waiting List Application Form and return it to Preschool either in person or via email to lara@mtcolahpreschool.com.au or telephone (02) 9476 4101 and we will send a Waiting List Application to you.

Once you have been offered a position you will be required to complete an Enrolment Form requesting information such as your child’s health and development and family information. These details are required to ensure our educators provide the best possible care for your child. It is a legal requirement for the enrolment form to be fully completed prior to commencement and all information supplied by you is held in the strictest confidence, in line with our Privacy Policy.

Our fees are payable fortnightly in advance and you will receive an account statement each fortnight. Payments can be made by direct deposit. Please note fees for 2024 are $111 per day.

Child Care Subsidy

The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is available to all families who are Australian Residents. To register for CCS you will need to log into your MyGov account and click on Centrelink. You will then need to select Complete your Child Care Subsidy Assessment . During Orientation you will be given more information on this process. You will be issued Customer Reference Numbers (CRN s) for you and your child/ren. You must provide on our Enrolment Form the CRN and the date of birth of the parent who is claiming CCS and the CRN and the date of birth of your child/ren attending Preschool. With this information we are able to report your child's attendance information through the whole financial year and process any CCS entitlements which appear as fee reduction payments on your fortnightly Preschool account.

Through this process you will need to:

  • Ensure the child commencing Preschool is included in your assessment (this step is really important)
  • Ascertain which parent is on record as the primary carer
  • Be issued with the Customer Reference Number (CRN) for mum, dad and child
  • Orientation Programme

Once you are advised of a commencement date for your child we will discuss with you a variety of ways to become familiar with Preschool routines. At the end of every year we conduct an Orientation Programme for the children commencing the following January. This provides a great opportunity for the children to become familiar with Educators and our learning environment. It also provides an opportunity for parents to receive further information and a chance to ask any questions they may have. For those children who join us during the year, you are invited to come along to visit Preschool with a family member and spend some time becoming familiar with our Educators and learning environment, prior to your first day.

    Getting Started

What your child will need to bring each day:

    • Hat
    • Water Bottle
    • Morning Tea (packed separately)
    • Lunch
    • Change of clothes

Separation anxiety can be an issue when your child first commences at Preschool. If you feel this is a concern for you and your child, please discuss this with our Educators. We have written an information brochure on Starting Kindergarten, if you have any concerns you may find this brochure helpful. Because we offer a structured daily routine at Preschool we find the children feel quite secure and settle in quickly.

Our Educators place high priority on building a strong relationship with you and your child and they look forward to speaking with you on your child’s days of attendance. The Educators are keen to know any information you may wish to pass on about your child at drop off times and the Educators will also chat with you at pick up time to update you regarding your child’s day. We enjoy working with you to support your child’s development and to ensure their Preschool experience is a happy and rewarding one.
